Mr Matthew Welck, Consultant Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Surgeon, sees private patients at four hospitals across Central London, North London and South Hertfordshire.

All four clinics offer the same specialist assessment with Mr Welck, whose practice is dedicated exclusively to disorders of the foot and ankle. Most patients simply choose the location and day that suit them best.

Which Clinic Is Right for You?

Central London, Harley Street area: The Princess Grace Hospital, Marylebone (Monday mornings), close to Regent’s Park, Great Portland Street and Baker Street stations.
Bushey, Watford and Hertfordshire: Spire Bushey (Tuesday mornings), with free parking near the M1.
Elstree and Borehamwood, with imaging on site: The Wellington Hospital Elstree (Friday mornings), with MRI and standing (weight-bearing) CT in the same building.
Stanmore, and complex or revision cases: the RNOH Private Patients Unit (Tuesday and Thursday evenings), at the national tertiary orthopaedic centre where Mr Welck is an NHS consultant.

Virtual consultations by video are also available for some appointments.

Insurance, Self-Pay & NHS

Mr Welck is recognised by Bupa, AXA Health, Aviva, Cigna, WPA, Healix, Aetna, Simplyhealth, Vitality. Please check with your insurer that your policy covers your chosen hospital. Self-funding patients are very welcome.

NHS patients are seen at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, following a referral from their GP or another clinician.

They explained the surgery and recovery process clearly, including the risks and expected timeline, which helped me feel prepared going in. Post-operative care was thorough, and I felt well supported during my recovery.
